Purpose
These terms govern access to and use of the Custoce service. By using the service, you accept them.
The service
Custoce is a register of reference that establishes, preserves and passes on proof of ownership of pieces certified by accredited houses. Custoce neither buys nor sells watches and is not a marketplace. The register does not replace a court decision.
Custoce does not authenticate the watch itself: the seal attests that an accredited house entered that piece in the register on a given date, and it traces what happened to it afterwards. Expertise in the object itself remains that of the house.
Account and security
Access to your vault is by a sign-in link sent to your email address. Certain sensitive operations require a personal code, known to you alone. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for keeping your recovery factors up to date.
Personal data
The processing of your personal data is described in our privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
Liability
Custoce implements the means necessary for the availability and security of the service, without any guarantee of uninterrupted availability. It cannot be held liable for the consequences of improper use or of inaccurate information provided at certification.
Consumers and the right of withdrawal
A user acting as a consumer who subscribes to a paid online service is entitled to the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal (Directive 2011/83/EU), unless they request immediate performance of the service and expressly consent to it.
Mediation and governing law
These terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute falls to the competent Belgian courts, without prejudice to the protective rules applicable to consumers.
A consumer may also refer the matter to a mediation body: the Consumer Mediation Service (Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur), boulevard du Roi Albert II 8, 1000 Brussels.
